(I'm not sure about adjusting fog transparency though, maybe I'm just forgetting something though)ĭespite modding ENB's a little bit in the past I still feel like I don't know what I'm doing so I wanted to make sure there weren't any parameters I was missing. That part was me trying to get a pitch black sky without getting pitch black land so my balance probably isn't ideal. I did try using a less blue fog, but found the same issue as I was describing with the problem of close up light - I'll look into messing with the fog and ambient parameters as you suggest and maybe also trying to blend the sky at the horizon/mountain line a bit better. If there is a way to enable additional settings or anyone has an alternative approach I can try to resolve this, I would appreciate it. I tried adding that setting to the INI file, but it did not appear to actually register and was absent from the in game ENB editor.
#Skyrim step enb ambient lighting how to
I was looking for a setting called "AmbientLightingCurveNight", that was in the Skyrim LE preset, but I noticed that setting along others appear to be absent, or I just don't understand how to activate them. I tried adjusting the fog curve setting so the door can be seen up close, but unfortunately this makes it too bright everywhere, and I lose the overall light balance. The exception of course is in this situation. I found a nice balance where the player's vision is obscured enough due to the night to make it challenging and encourage the use of light, but not so dark that they are unable to navigate. I think it is actually the fog that is allowing the player to see the door from the distance since I use a high fog multiplier at night combined with low ambient and direct lighting settings. In the first image, the player can still see the door of the Riverwood Trader, but as shown in the second image, as they get closer the ambient light decreases as the door is no longer visible. My goal is to fix an issue where objects get dark as the player gets closer to them seen here: Hi, I am working on a Skyrim SE dark night ENB for vanilla weathers and I am trying to figure out if there is a parameter to adjust ambient light over a distance similar to how fog seems to work under the section.
